The flowers at Slipknot are always abundant. Eliza continues to care for the heirloom plants and flowering bushes that grace her surroundings and comfort her when she starts missing her family.
Every year she gets up early on May 1st to carry out the long-lived tradition instilled in her by Mimzie that started when she was just big enough to carry a basket.
May Day, May 1st every year, they would make small bouquets and tiny baskets to anonymously leave on a door knob or porch step to brighten someone’s day. Mimzie would load up the huge basket full of these creations and put it in the front seat of Bittersweet, leaving room for Eliza, and they were off to town at daybreak. As Mimzie pulled up, Eliza picked out the perfect display and ran to the porch to leave it. Just as quickly back to Bittersweet, they were off to the next place. The excitement was exhilarating.
