I enjoy the simple things in life, like soaking in my old bathtub in my little bathroom, a simple sprinkle of Dr. Tea’s soothing bath salts for aches and pains and a favorite magazine! I slide in and stay until the water gets cold! The only thing missing was enough light to read!
Stopping at a yard sale one afternoon a very long time ago, low and behold, there lay the cutest chandelier. Not too big, not too flashy, not a clue what I would ever do with it, but for $20 it made me stop and think. The gentleman trying to sell this gem spotted me looking at it, came over and I remember him saying to me, “Now Sis, that is just what you need. Better grab it before someone else beats you to it!” He was a good salesman because I was there at the end of the yard sale, not much left to sell nor many people around to buy, but I said, “OK, I’ll take it!”
After I brought it home my little chandelier laid around for a few more years. Then one day you might say ‘my light came on’…and there I had it! The perfect spot, right above my bathtub! Now I can see, it makes my bath even more enjoyable with just a touch of elegance, and it’s a great conversation piece!
So, now you know that in A SIMPLE STITCH, A COMMON THREAD when Eliza turns on the chandelier over her bathtub… it’s not all because I have a good imagination…it’s because I have a good life!
