Remember the old iron ring that I hoped would evolve into a flower garden at the farm? The weather didn’t co-operate for a while. I had to wait for Blackberry Winter to come and go with its last cold snap as not to stunt the new plants. Then the rains came, again! Eventually, after strong winds for days, the ground dried out, only to form a hard crust that had to be broken loose so progress could begin!
And begin it did…new bedding plants here and there, seeds planted in several places, a couple of finds laying around in other gardens, baby steps…but a start.
So, another week passed by, a few more plants, rethinking the placement of my good junk, change here and there, adding some flat rocks… it’s coming around.
Seeds are sprouting nicely, but you still cannot see from here! They will make a statement in due time. A bee balm blooming, lavender and white phlox add interest, (note to self, remember planting the phlox next year when it returns, and I’m surprised) and four bags of mulch! Evolving nicely?
Stay tuned….we’re not done yet.
