Today started out as a rainy, gloomy morning that quickly turned into an exciting day. You see, my publisher is working on a video trailer to promote A Simple Stitch, A Common Thread that is now available everywhere in soft cover as well as e-books, third edition with a great new look and added contents. I got a chance to see the first draft, and I have to say, you’re going to just love it when it’s out…but, you know me. The Main Street didn’t have the charm that I envisioned, so I loaded up my visiting grandkids, and we hit the road. Lebanon! Perfect Main Street in my mind.
On the drive the sun kept peeking out from the clouds, teasing me that I would get good pictures. As we arrived, the charm was more than I remembered! So excited to be there on a Saturday morning, me with my cell phone taking video while standing in the busy street and granddaughter Emmilee helping me dodge traffic! What could be better! (Grandson Collin was a bit embarrassed, so he appeared from time to time just to be sure we didn’t leave without him.)
We talked to shop owners and took pictures until my battery went dead. Then lunch, phone charged and we were on our way. We happened upon a barn with a couple of horses that walked toward us for the photo shoot, perfect for A Time to Mend, shhh! Oh, what a marvelous day!
Our last stop, a Grand Opening of a quaint shop in Albers. My friends at Ten Pin Antique Mall told me about this, PEONIES and MILK! Don’t you just love quirky names? This was a wonderful shop full of unique finds and custom painted one of a kind furniture the owner creates. I shared my book with her and want to share her shop with you.
Technology is not my friend, so here I am, 10:20 Saturday night, and I am finally getting the video to download to my publisher…and it is downloading so S-L-0-W….that I decided to spend some time sharing and reminding myself of all the good things about this day! … DebO
